Automatic preview and file checking

After upload, PrintingHub processes your artwork into an on-screen preview. It helps you inspect pages, orientation, and visible placement before ordering. The preview can help you spot problems earlier, but it is not a complete approval of your design.

What happens after upload?

PDF is preferred. Other supported files are processed as follows:

PDF

An unprotected PDF is processed directly. Page dimensions and positioning are usually most predictable in this format.

SVG, AI/EPS, and Office

SVG, AI/EPS, and Word, Excel, and PowerPoint files are converted to PDF for processing.

Images

JPG/JPEG, PNG, WebP, TIFF, and GIF are processed directly as images and later included in the production file.

Not supported

Native InDesign (.indd) and Photoshop (.psd) files and password-protected PDFs are not supported. Export them as an unprotected PDF first.

What can the automatic preview show?

  • The processed pages, their order, and the visible placement of your artwork.
  • Page count, document size, and orientation that can be read technically from the file.
  • For correctly constructed PDFs, trim and bleed boxes can also be read.
  • For supported products, a warning may appear for an unexpected page count or artwork proportions that do not match the selected size.

What should you always check yourself?

  • Spelling, phone numbers, links, dates, and other content.
  • Page order, front and back, and the selected product size.
  • Important text and logos safely inside the trim line.
  • Image quality around 300 dpi at final size and CMYK where possible.
  • That the selected paper, finishing, and delivery options are correct.

Automatic preview or advanced document check?

Automatic preview

Generated by the system to help you inspect the processed artwork visually before ordering.

Advanced document check

Where this option is available, we manually review technical points such as size, orientation, image quality, bleed, and page setup. If clarification is needed, we contact you by email and this may affect scheduling.
